Father Andrew Foreshew-Caine has spoken out against a homophobic attack on his parish, St. James’ Church in West Hampstead.
The church has always encouraged the inclusion of the LGBT community within the parish.
However, last week the LGBT and Transgender flags which famously fly above the church, were removed during the night.
After having a defiant ceremony to re-erect the flags, they were then taken down again by the unknown culprits.
Father Andrew has said that the act does not reflect the feeling towards the LGBT community in West Hampstead and has described the act as “a minor irritation” which will not stop the church from showing support for the gay community.
