With 15 million pumpkins leftover after Halloween in the UK, North London is taking in your jack’o lantern remains.

In a bid to reduce food waste, the North London Waste Authority is has partnered with Tesco to take in any pumpkin leftovers from Halloween weekend. The event hopes to reduce 3 tonnes of pumpkins, whilst educating the local community to reduce food waste in general.

Pumpkin drop off points have been set up around North London to compost pumpkin leftovers.

Other than taking in your pumpkin remains, the North London Waste Authority has setup cooking workshops to teach the public of various recipes which use pumpkin surplus.
