This evening haringey councillors and local MPs will meet with the Communication Workers Union (CWU) following the recent wave of post office closures.

The post office announced the closure of 37 of its flagship Crown office branches, including the ones in Green Lane, Haringey earlier this month.

Andy Furey, CWU spokesperson, will be speaking out on behalf of the estimated 300 staff and 12 financial specialists whose jobs will be made redundant.

The meeting will be held at South Haringey School, and the CWU urged all members of the community to come and air any of their concerns.
