The mutilated black cat was found on Park Drive, at the junction of North End Road in Golders Green, yesterday evening.
Local residents Kirsten Dhar and her partner were walking home, when they came across the dismembered cat by a post box, before calling the police and RSPCA.
“We saw something on the pavement. When we got closer we realised it was a cat without its head and tail,” she told City News, adding that she looked around for the head and tail of the cat but could not find it.
According to Dhar, there was no blood where the cat was found, suggesting that the cat was decapitated elsewhere before being dumped on Park Drive.
The attack bears all the hallmarks of the famous serial ‘M25 cat killer’.
The ‘M25 cat killer’ has evaded capture for two years, and is thought to have dismembered and decapitated over 370 cats around London.
The ‘M25 cat killer’ killing spree started in Croydon in 2015, which is where their other name, the ‘Croydon cat killer’ hails from.
There are concerns that this might be the ‘M25 cat killer’ at work again.
