Police were called to a clothing store on Regent Street at 1:30 this morning, Tuesday 14th November, following reports that 10 suspects on five scooters had smashed the window before entering the shop.
Reports state a member of security was threatened with a hammer as he tried to stop the suspects, however he was not injured.
The suspects managed to flee on their scooters with a large quantity of clothing.
Detectives are investigating whether the theft is linked to another attempted ‘smash and grab’ at a second clothing store of St John’s Wood High Street, North London, at approximately 1:30 am.
In this incident six suspects on three scooters smashed the front door but left empty-handed. Detectives from Westminster CID are investigating.
