Fur still on sale in Camden Market

Camden Market bosses had asked traders not to sell fur products from March 2018 onwards. However, it appears some businesses aren’t complying with the new restrictions.

A shop assistant at Carpe Diem, Camden Market, explained that the store had received a letter about the ban on fur at the end of February but they still sell fur bags.

Another shop worker at The Vintage Collection, Camden Market revealed that they still sell fur lined and trimmed clothing.

The store owner of 521, gave his view on the ban explaining why he wasn’t in favour, he told us “my business has been badly affected by the ban on fur”.

Kiara at Vintage Planet explained that there was little point banning vintage fur as it was all old clothing that had already gone through that process. She added that it was actually quite wasteful not to sell it on as people may resort to buying new fur instead.
