As one of Hackney’s independent breweries, Five Points want to use part of the funds to open their first pub, the Pembury Tavern, which Five Points bought last month.

Started in 2013, the brewery aimed to make quality craft beer in a local setting. But due to high demand they quickly reached capacity and were forced to move their operations to Belgium in 2016. Now, founder Ed Mason wants to return all of their production to the UK.
As part of the move, the brewery also aim open their first pub, the Pembury Tavern, which Five Points bought last month.
Pembury Circus, the five-pointed junction where the tavern sits, was the inspiration for the company’s name.
Brewery that supports the community
Since its creation Five Point has aimed to give back to the borough. It has set up apprenticeship schemes and supporting local charities and community projects.
Local MP for Hackney Downs, Michael Desmond, told City News:
“We as a council actively support the creation of new jobs and new industry in the area. This is just one of the examples of innovative new businesses that are helping to regenerate the borough”.
