Camden Council will start the renovation of the Town Hall in September this year.

Camden Town Hall in King’s Cross is set to be renovated and will be finished in 2021.

Camden cabinet member Theo Blackwell told City News: “This continues the remarkable transformation of Kings Cross.”

The revitalising will start in September this year, and is planned to be finished autumn 2021.

Originally the St Pancras Town Hall

Camden Town Halls lies within the King’s Cross Conservation Area. This is home to some of the most important historic buildings in the country.

The town hall was built between 1934 and 1937 and designed by AJ Thomas. The building was originally the St Pancras Town Hall before the boroughs of Holborn, Hampstead and St Pancras were merged in 1965.

The town hall has retained many of its original features, such as the marble entrance hall and grand staircase.

The town hall has been a popular venue for weddings, with Sting and Trudie Styler marrying there in 1992.
