A 26-year-old man has been arrested under the Terrorism Act in east London.
Police detained the man on Wednesday evening in a pre-planned operation and he remained in police custody on Thursday, Scotland Yard said.
He has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism, under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
A search at a property in east London continues, the force added.
