Uber will increase their fare prices for weekend journeys in Zone One tonight.
This is because they want more of their drivers to pick up customers in busy areas like the West End.

Uber have said the price increase is minimal, and will make the experience better for customers.
But some black cab drivers are worried about the congestion it will cause.
The fare increase starts from 22:00 tonight.
It will affect journeys between 22:00 and 06:00, Thursdays through to Sundays.
Maz Parmar, an Uber driver in London said that “Uber drivers stay in their own area, than come into the West End and get abused and whatnot for £3-4 jobs…To go into town for headache and aggro it has to be feasible. If its not feasible he’d rather leave it to a black cab to deal with.”
“If you look at every second or third vehicle you see on the road empty. It’s got a yellow randall in it. And that usually means they’re an Uber vehicle and if they’re empty driving around they’re just adding to the congestion that we’ve already got.”
Further fare increases
Uber have other fare increases planned too. They have also reported plans to introduce a clean air tax in early 2019.
The tax would increase fares by 15p per mile. They hope it will help drivers buy electric cars.
This is part of an initiative by the company to increase the number of fully electric cars in its fleet to 20,000 by 2021.
Future troubles
And it’s not just fare prices that threaten Uber’s performance in London.
They are accused of misleading judges when they applied for a temporary licence from TfL. They lost their initial licence over claims that they were not operating safely.
Now, a High Court judge has allowed black cab drivers to appeal the decision made by Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot.
She has been accused of bias, after it was revealed that her husband is linked to the firm. She denies knowing about his connection.
