A British Airways flight has touched back down at Heathrow Airport after landing with a gear fault.
The airline has described the problem as a “minor technical difficulty.”
Flight BA65 to Nairobi took off an hour late shortly after 11:00 this morning.
But, as the Boeing 747 circled above Kent and Sussex, its front nose wheel got stuck in the down position.
The aircraft then headed to the south coast to dump fuel in the English Channel.
The plane spent two hours in the air without evee leaving the country.
It then returned to Heathrow at 13:00 once it was light enough to land safely again.
A BA spokesperson has said it landed “as normal.”
He added: “We apologise to customers for the disruption to their journey and we aim to have them on their way again soon.”
It is not yet known how many people were on board the daily British Airways flight to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
The British Airways website shows a new departure for the BA65 flight to Nairobi.
There is now a 16:00 scheduled departure time.
It is due to land in Nairobi at 03:30 local time (00:00 GMT) on Friday morning.
