Political and economic uncertainties have pushed down London home registrations down by 10%, an industry expert has claimed.
Warranty and insurance provider NHBC found London new home registrations down 10% in 2018 at 16,069, compared to 17,932 in 2017.
The provider puts London’s decrease down to “political and economic uncertainties” damaging the capital’s private housing market.
However, the number of new homes registered to be built in the UK matched 2017 figures.

Six out of the 12 UK regions in 2018 showed growth compared to 2017. This includes Yorkshire & Humberside (+20%), the North West (+7%) and Northern Ireland (+39%).
Registrations refer to the process of a builder registering a new plot or home to be built in the coming months.
