The City of London is a big draw for top finance firms, and workers prefer it to other big hubs.

London has been named the best city in the world for a ‘global workforce’.
This means that the capital is a better place to relocate than New York, Paris or Singapore.
International workers ranked London top in a survey that asked 400,000 people about their work preferences.
The survey, led by The Spectator, The Network and the Boston Consulting Group, asked people in almost 200 countries.
London has such a far-reaching appeal, according to the survey, because of its “rich history, abundant old world charm” and “international and diverse population”.

London fares particularly well because members of the Commonwealth rate it highly.
The Commonwealth group has a population of over two billion people.
Barbadians, Ghanians and Jamaicans are some of the countries that said in high numbers that they’d relocate to the big smoke.
Although London won the title, the UK has plumetted in the rankings since 2014.
The survey blames Brexit for this.
They remarked that this shows how a city, like London, can have a very different brand to the country it is situated in.
