John Worboys has appeared in court for allegedly drugging 4 women with the intention of carrying out sex attacks.
The 62-year-old, full name, John Derek Radford, did not indicate his plea.
The incidents allegedly took place between 2000 and 2008.
Mr Radford is accused of giving a woman champagne laced with sedatives in his taxi between 2000 and 2001.
The court heard that he is also accused of spiking a university student’s drink who was a passenger in his taxi in 2003 after leaving a nightclub in central London.
He faces two similar charges, under the Sexual Offences Act, allegedly committed in 2007 and 2008.
He is due before the Old Bailey next month.
