Saracens’ Billy Vunipola will return to action on Sunday, after making a quicker than expected recovery from a knee injury.

The 24-year-old is set to play for the first time since November against Newcastle, an earlier return date than initially anticipated after looking sharp in training this week.

This means he may feature for England in the Six Nations against Scotland on 11 March and Ireland a week later, as they chase a second consecutive Grand Slam title.

Vunipola has been a key part of Eddie Jones’ England team since the Australian took over in November 2015, and if he proves his fitness on Sunday he could join his brother Mako in the England squad, who returned from a knee injury himself last weekend.
