West Ham fired Bilic on Monday after the team suffered a 4-1 loss against Liverpool.

The defeat was the final straw after Bilic failed to advance the team up from the relegation zone.

Moyes has not managed a Premier League team since May, when he resigned as Sunderland’s manager after the team’s relegation to the Championship.

The 54-year-old Scot’s new contract, which runs for six months initially, will put Moyes to the test.

It provides a £2m. bonus if he lifts the team up from relegation. But there’s also a breakout clause, allowing West Ham to let him go if he fails to achieve the goal.

Moyes told BBC Sport that he’s got a “big job” ahead.

Club owners David Gold and David Sullivan expressed faith in the new manager.

In a statement on the club’s website, they said that ‘change is now necessary for the Club to move forward positively and in line with their ambition.’

However, some critics mean that the decision to pick Moyes comes with risks.

A representative from the fan page West Ham Polls told City News that appointing Moyes is a ‘massive gamble,’ adding that, ‘it was expected and a choice that our tight owners were always going to take.’

The next game will take place on November 19, when West Ham takes on Watford at London Stadium.
