Tottenham Player Harry Kane, London Football Awards nominee.

Tottenham sensation Harry Kane is up for Premier League Player of the Year alongside Christian Eriksen and Heung-Men Son.
All five women in the run for player of the year represent either Chelsea Ladies or Arsenal Women. Chelsea Ladies’ Millie Bright, Katie Chapman and Fran Kirby have been nominated. Arsenals Danielle Carter and Jordan Nobbs have been nominated.
The list of nominees in all categories is generally very high, a mix of established stars and young talent that indicates optimism for the future even though some London clubs are not enjoying the best of fortune.
Nominations for Manager of the Year includes Chelsea Ladies’ Emma Hayes, Crystal Palaces’ Roy Hodgson and Tottenham Hotspurs’ Mauricio Pochettino.
Football journalist Philip McNulty told City News,
‘I’d plump for Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino as manager of the year because, even though he has yet to win a trophy, I think he is doing outstanding work and is coveted throughout Europe.
I have to confess to a tinge of bias when it comes to Premier League player of the year because I am unashamed admirer of Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta, so good and yet often so under-rated. I will have to go for Harry Kane, though, a world-class striker in the making and someone who will carry so much of England’s hopes at the World Cup.’
The shortlist of nominees was agreed by an independent panel of judges and announced by sports presenter and LFA judge, Jim Rosenthal at the launch at Coutts’ history head office in London on February 1.
The London Football Awards 2018 will take place on Thursday 1 March 2018 at Battersea Evolution.
