Arsene Wenger is concerned 4G pitches will affect Arsenal's chances tonight.

Tonight’s opposition Ostersund FK had not formed when Wenger became Arsenal boss 21 years ago. The Gunners might not be hot favourites though.

Conditions may drop as low as -4C. They may make for an uncomfortable evening for the Arsenal stars, adding to the change in surface.

Challenges of a 4G pitch

Wenger explained, “Our target will be to adapt quickly to the pitch. I have heard this is 4G – we have 3G, so it is different and outside it is different as well but no matter, we have not to make too big a problem of it.”

Wilshere and Koscielny are sitting out for precautionary measures. Alongside them is Alexandre Lacazette, who soon undergoes knee surgery.

Frustration for Wenger and Aubameyang…

Wenger also voiced his frustration with a recent UEFA ruling. It means new signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won’t feature tonight due to featuring previously for Borussia Dortmund. This means that England forward Danny Welbeck expects to lead the line for Arsenal.

Arsenal last week suffered a derby-day defeat to Tottenham. Nonetheless, they will be looking to defy tricky conditions, and continue their strong European form.
