British long distance runner Susannah Gill has won the World Marathon Challenge.
The 34-year-old completed seven marathons in seven days across seven continents.
The feat totalled 183 miles. She completed the gruelling challenge in a world record time of 24 hours, 19 minutes and nine seconds, burning up to 5,000 calories a day.
Gill won six of her seven marathons, and finished second in Antarctica.
Her final race in Miami was completed in three hours 26 minutes and 24 seconds. American Mike Wardian won the men’s title.
The runner completed marathons in Antarctica, Cape Town, Perth, Dubai, Madrid, Santiago and Miami. Extremes of temperature ranged from -35C in Antarctica to 35C in Perth just two days later.
Fewer than 200 people have ever completed the “777” challenge since it was first completed by Ranulph Fiennes in 2003.
