West Indian fast bowler Shannon Gabriel says he’s sorry for asking England captain, Joe Root, if he ‘liked boys’.
Following a four-match ODI suspension, West Indian fast bowler apologised for asking England captain if he “liked boys”.
Gabriel was given a four match ODI suspension by the ICC after Joe Root was heard to say “don’t use it as an insult. There’s nothing wrong with being gay.”
Gabriel added his sincerest apologies to his own team-mates and England team and said that his comments came “during a tense moment on the field” and assumed it was “inoffensive sporting banter”.
Joe Root, Is currently batting scored a 122 in the second innings to help England win the third Test in England’s tour of the West Indies.
England had already lost the series having lost the first two matches.
England now play the West Indies in a five match ODI series.
It will be the last time the teams play in the format before the World Cup in England starting on 30 May.
