Manchester City beat Liverpool to the Premier League title by one point
A video has emerged that appears to show players and staff joining in a song that celebrates Liverpool fans being “battered in the street”.
It is unclear as of yet which staff members joined in.
City said the song was regular chant throughout the 2018/19 season. It recalls Liverpool’s defeat in last year’s Champion’s League final in Kiev.
However in a statement City made clear:
“any suggestion that the lyrics relate to Sean Cox or the Hillsborough tragedy is entirely without foundation”.
