This weekend, warm up matches start in London for the Cricket World Cup and the Olympic Park will see the world’s best skateboarders battle it out.
The Cricket World Cup starts on 30th May, hosted here in London and surrounding cricket grounds.
England’s Joe Root hopes home advantage could help them win the cricket World Cup:
“It’s huge.
“We’ve seen in previous world cups when home sides have flourished.”
He believes this summer’s competition will also inspire more people to play the game.
“I think it’s great – it’s a great opportunity for the game of cricket in England.”
England have never won the tournament, finishing as runners-up on three occasions.

Cricket in the capital
This weekend there’s few warm up matches taking place at the Oval Cricket Ground.
India will be playing Afghanistan at the Oval on Saturday and England will take on Afghanistan there on the bank holiday Monday.
Oval and its surrounding areas are set to be brimming with cricket fans in the sun this weekend.
Also in Cricket, Lord’s will play host to the Royal One Day Cup on Saturday as Hampshire versus Somerset. This will be the last ever of the Cup being played at Lord’s – the tournament will move to Trent Bridge from the 2020 season onwards.
Skateboarding’s finest
Have you ever watched a Skateboarding competition? Well the sport will be making a historic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
But to get a taster, head to The Copper Box Arena in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this weekend to see the world’s most prestigious skateboarding competition, Street League Skateboarding (SLS).
The Street League Skateboarding World Tour returns to London following the success of the inaugural event in 2018.
See some of the world’s best skaters battle it out for pride and prizes in a custom-built concrete skate plaza.

Football
Also on the bank holiday Monday this weekend, Aston Villa face Derby at Wembley in the Championship play-off final.
The Rams beat Leeds 4-2 at Elland Road to book their place at Wembley, while Villa overcame West Brom on penalties.
The clash will pit Derby boss Frank Lampard against Villa assistant manager John Terry.
