Ange Postecoglou has some big decisions to make ahead of Europa League final.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is adamant that his side cannot lose another body ahead of their Europa League final against Manchester United.

Five goals against Bodo/Glimt sealed Spurs’ spot in the final giving them a final chance at achieving Champions League football for next season.

Spurs currently sit 17th in the Premier League table with 20 losses, their most in Premier League history.

The Australian’s side face Aston Villa tonight in the Premier league ahead of the final but injuries to Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Bergvall and James Maddison leave the manager worried about how many players he will have available for the game against Man United.

“In a normal world you would use the game against Aston Villa as sharpening up for the final but we are not living in a normal world.

“That is the reality of our existence at the moment.”

The injuries Spurs have suffered in the build up to the final are made even more significant as all three of Bergvall, Maddison and Kulusevksi are their main creative players. Postecoglou will need to find other solutions to break down the Red Devils.

“The injuries give you more of a challenge because they all play in that midfield area, they are not exactly the same players but they are all creative types in midfield and have filled that role really well for us this year.

“That is another challenge but that has been a constant this year, we have always tried to find creative ways of covering the absences we have had.”

“We cannot afford to lose another player to injury.”

Amongst all the bad injury news for Spurs there is some positivity. Heung-min Son will be available for the final after playing his first minutes against Crystal Palace since the Europa League quarter-final first leg over a month ago.

“It is absolutely fantastic to have him available, he has got the experience and that creative ability.

“In the game against Aston Villa we need to get him some match minutes to see how he is.

When speaking about if Son will play the final he said, “I have never tried to look to far into the future in terms of what we might do but if I this year has taught me anything it is that our planning at the moment is a day to day proposition.”
