Cancer is one of humanity’s most feared diseases and still lacks a definite cure. However, at the UCL Institute of Cancer in Camden, a team of scientists believe a breakthrough could be close.
In a free talk given at UCL today, cancer immunologist Dr. Sergio Quezada will discuss an innovative new technology: using the body’s own immune system to control cancerous cells.
For more than 100 years, scientists have attempted to use the body’s own immune system against cancer.
However, it is only in the last five years that a series of high profile clinical trials have finally demonstrated that the concept could be on the right tracks.

Quezada will also discuss the science that led to these new therapies as well as the directions that this area of research is likely to take in the near future.
