It is officially Christmas time at the Geoffrey Museum in Shoreditch, who have opened their doors to their exhibition ‘Christmas Past’.
Walking through the gallery you are invited to peer into living rooms decorated for Christmas as people would have done through the centuries.
Starting in 1630, the exhibition takes you through the Victorian age, the World War years and finishes in a chic 2000s apartment.
Visitors to the museum’s opening were inspired by old traditions, and happy to see the history of the ones they were used to.
One visitor commented to City News on the turbulent year that 2016 has been, in the wake of Brexit and the voting of Donald Trump, and took comfort in knowing that Christmas always has been and always will be a time of joy.
