Genesis told City News that they have always been committed to highlighting women and diversity, and Suburbia is a great example of social commentary by a woman.
Genesis are screening 52 films by female directors across the whole of 2017.
The film is also part of their ‘Teen Unscreened’ strand which focuses on unseen teen titles which have all been directed by women.
