The annual Barnet Schools Dance Festival begins today (March 2) at Finchley Arts Depot – and it has already sold out.
More than 1,800 pupils from 85 schools from across the borough are involved in the festival which runs over the next ten days.
“The quality of dance performance continues to improve demonstrating the outstanding work achieved by teachers and young people in Barnet Schools,” said festival director Anne Fisher.
Dancers ranging in age from reception to sixth form will perform a wide variety of dance styles including contemporary, ballet, musical theatre, traditional and jazz.
Running for almost 30 years, the festival is described by organisers as “a joyous arts celebration within the academic year.”
