Walden, a West End play staring Gemma Arterton, reopened last night after audiences were turned away earlier this week when a backstage member was told by ‘Test and Trace’ they may have been exposed to Covid.
Audiences were told that the production was cancelled on Tuesday only ten minutes before the curtain went up at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
Cast and crew have now received negative Covid test results and the show, which is on a limited three week run, is now able to resume.
Sonia Friedman Productions, which produces the show, says it will “continue to adhere to all Covid protocols” and that “the health and safety of [the] company and audiences remains [their] priority”.

In a tweet before last night’s show, the production company reassured followers that all Covid protocols have been followed and all cast and crew “remain negative, safe and well”.
The production has thanked the audience for their understanding and support.
