There’s a development in the Wagatha Christie case as Rebekah Vardy has got a partial win in the libel battle with Coleen Rooney.
Jamie Vardy’s wife has successfully had parts of the defence thrown out by a judge- she’s suing Rooney for libel after she claimed that fake stories had been leaked to newspapers by Vardy’s Instagram account.
Rooney believes that Vardy is also the author of the Sun column ‘The Secret Wag’, but Vardy is denying those allegations.
It’s thought that this case will reveal the identity of that author..
She concluded from it that it was…Rebekah Vardy leaking stories to the press.
In an effort to work out which of her friends had been sharing stories, she’d published different fake stories on Instagram to different people, monitoring which ones ended up as newspaper headlines.
A new era of A Question of Sport
Former Take Me Out presenter Paddy McGuiness hasn’t said “no likey, no lighty” to his latest role, as he’s set to replace Sue Barker as host of A Question of Sport.
The star, who is also known for Top Gear, said taking on the job was “an honour and opportunity he’s certainly not taking lightly.”
Former tennis player Barker had been the show’s host since 1996.
The programme will also get two new captains for its 51st series.
Hockey player Sam Quek and former rugby winger Ugo Monye will take over from Matt Dawson and Phil Tufnell.
Quek, who won gold with Team GB at the 2016 Olympics, will be the first female team captain in the show’s 50-year history- she’s called it “her dream job”.
Spice Girls’ Wannabe: the story from A to Z
The Spice Girls are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their hit Wannabe.
Whilst platforms like YouTube and Spotify put Wannabe as their most viewed and streamed song, according to radio and airplay data analysed by Phonographic Performance Limited the most popular song is in fact Who Do You Think You Are?
The hit was made famous by Geri Halliwell’s Union Flag tea-towel dress at the Brits in 1997, a look which has since been recreated at many fancy dress parties…
Love Island intruder
We’d all love to be sitting in the sun in Majorca finding the love of our life…but would you go as far as a break in?
ITV have confirmed that an intruder was removed from the Love Island villa on Tuesday night after having breached security.
The unexpected guest is reported to be a YouTuber. But if he was looking for an interview with the islanders, he didn’t get very far, as he didn’t come into contact with any of the contestants.
ITV have said that the safety of the islanders and crew ‘remains their primary concern’ and the villa area that was trespassed has been fully cleaned in line with Covid regulations.
