London-based musicians secured several top awards at this year’s Mobo music awards.
South Londoner, RAYE, was named best female act after the success of her debut album My 21st Century Blues.
Both Little Simz and Stormzy had four nominations and each secured one award. Little Simz received the best hip-hop act award and Stormzy won best music video.
Album of the year was won by rapper Potter Payper for ‘Real Back in Style’.
It was the first album for Payper, real name Jamel Bousbaa, which reached number two in the charts after it’s release in the Summer.

Where were the artists?
Several top artists didn’t make it to the ceremony to receive their awards, with some recording videos that were played to the audience.
