Mr Eustice says he could not continue to serve in Mrs May's government

Agriculture Minister George Eustice has resigned from Government in protest at Theresa May’s promise to allow MPs a vote on delaying Brexit if her deal is rejected.
Mr Eustice says he wants to be “free to participate in the critical debate that will take place in the weeks ahead”.
In his statement the farming minister says his decisions comes following the “postponement of our exit from the EU”.
‘The final humiliation’
He continues:
“I fear that developments this week will lead to a sequence of events culminating in the EU dictating the terms of any extension requested and the final humiliation of our country”
His resignation comes after Theresa May promised no-deal votes or a vote to delay Brexit.
Last month, MPs overwhelmingly rejected Mrs May’s agreement with Brussels. If this were to happen again – they will now get a vote on whether to support the UK leaving the EU without a divorce deal by 13 March.
Mr Eustice is an established Brexiteer who once stood as a UKIP MEP candidate before joining the conservatives.
‘Instability at Defra’
His departure comes after senior Labour MP Clive Lewis told City News that instability in the Department for Energy Food and Rural Affairs was getting in the way of the fight against climate change.
