While there have been a rapid increase in restaurant bookings, many diners are failing to show up.

Have you ever booked a restaurant, found yourself busy, and not turned up without giving the restaurant a heads up? Overall 30% of Londoners are restaurant ‘no-shows’.

Since the return of indoor dining on May 17th, TheFork has measured a 237% increase in bookings on their site. However many diners are failing to attend their booking.

Londoners in particular are reported to ‘spread book’. This is a trend where individuals book across multiple restaurants to ensure they have options to choose from. However, they will only be committing to one.

TheFork has revealed that diners in the Capital are most guilty of failing to show up for their restaurant bookings.

Due to social distancing regulations currently in place, many restaurant venues are operating at reduced capacity. Demand in table availability currently outweighs availability.

TheFork urges restaurant go-ers to set reminders to cancel to minimise any ‘no-shows’.

In comparison, the most loyal diners with the least amount of no-shows, are Liverpudlians and Edinburgh residents.
