A Thameslink spokesperson said that they expect disruptions to last, following overhead wire damage that occurred in the morning.
The wire damage happened between Harpenden and Bedford this morning. This caused closures on two of the four lines between London St Pancras and Bedford.
A Thameslink spokesman said “engineers have fixed everything and trains are moving, but there are delays and cancellations”. He added that disruption to its services is expected to last until 2pm. However, he added that “this is subject to change”.
Jenny Saunders from Thameslink said “there will be a “full investigation” and extra staff are on site to help”.
She added that ” It is imperative that Network Rail and Thameslink continue to work together over the coming weeks and months to understand what is happening when incidents like this cause disruption”.
