Police have successfully linked a Haringey man to a series of thefts across the City of London, resulting in a one-year jail sentence.
Samir Agoun, 32, of Marquis Road was arrested in October after undercover police spotted him attempting to steal a backpack.
An on the spot check and a later search of his home police recovered six stolen mobile phones, two false identification documents, and a stolen passport.
As a result of the initial arrest police successfully connected Mr Agoun to a series of thefts across licenced premises in the City.
He has now been sentenced to 12 months in prison for his crimes after pleading guilty to five charges at the City of Westminster Magistrates Court on 30 November.
Inspector Alexander Wisbey, from the City of London Police, said: “This result follows a tireless effort to prove Agoun’s link to a number of crimes.
