The UK is leaving the EU tomorrow...however a brand new battleground has now emerged

As the UK officially leaves the European Union this week, the battle between Leavers and Remainers has moved into the Official Charts.
Both groups are attempting to get their own selected song to number one, with Remainers supporting the EU anthem Ode To Joy and Leavers backing 17 Million F*** Offs – A Brexit Song, written by leave voting comedian Dominic Frisby.
The contest looks set to be about as close as the referendum its self with with both songs almost neck and neck in the charts at the moment,
As things stand, An Ode to Joy is currently sitting in second position in the Itunes download charts, with Dominic Frisby sitting just once place behind in third.
Final chart placings will be announced tomorrow at 17:45 on the Official Charts website and the top 40 countdown will air on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart with Scott Mills from 16:00.
There has been plenty of debate over whether or not Dominic Frisby’s song will be played on the chart show if it ends up victorious.
It features expletives and slurs about prominent politicians and campaigners, along with the lyrics: “It was the greatest democratic turnout in British history, I do not scoff, and when the time came to speak the British said f*** off, f*** off.”
In 2013 the BBC was embroiled in a row over whether or not to play an anti-Margaret Thatcher song following her death during the chart show. Radio 1 instead played a short five-second clip with an explanation from a news reporter.
