Emma Raducanu enters into day three at Wimbledon with full fan support on the British home turf.

The 19-year-old British number one, who comes from Bromley, is set to play against France’s Caroline Garcia on Centre Court this afternoon.

With hopes for an entertaining and nail-biting match against the former world number four, Caroline Garcia, the chat from the queue suggest that the young Brit has strong support.

Emma Raducanu has rocketed to fame since her US Open win in 2021 and her support continues to grow following her Centre Court debut on Monday.

Credited for her commitment to both her studies and her sporting, Emma Raducanu has created a strong fan base with younger generations.

Louise from Greater London is part of the queue to enter SW19. “This is the first time I’m going to see Emma Raducanu play.

“I watched her on TV at Wimbledon last year and I was so excited.”

City News also spoke to Lewis from Manchester who said: “After Emma’s win at the US open last year it made me fall in love with tennis all over again. I can’t wait to see her play today!”

Wimbledon Day Three Order of Play

Emma Raducanu is sharing Centre Court play with tennis champs Novak Djokovic and Sir Andy Murray on day three of the tournament.

Novak Djokovic is up first up facing Thanasi Kokkinakis of Australia on Centre Court, with Sir Andy Murray is set to play US John Isner in the last game of the day.

Highest British turnout since 1997

This year is the best turnout for British players in Wimbledon second round in 25 years as nine Britons are through to the next round.

Emma Raducanu, Sir Andy Murray are amongst those through to the next round in the highest GB turnout since 1997.

British women’s number two, Harriet Dart, is to play a delayed first-round singles game, where if she wins, will take GB second-round qualifiers up to 10 and the highest figure since 1984.
