Townhouse to be transformed into the ultimate Halloween experience.

Families are invited to enjoy the free Twisted Tea Party on 31 October as Stockroom Theatre Company turns into an immersive Haunted House.

Aimed at children aged 6-12, the Twisted Tea Party will last about 15 minutes and will see families navigate around the house, solving riddles and challenges on their way.

Tonderai Munyevu, Stockroom writer and director of Twisted Tea Party said: “It’s an ordinary building, but when you go inside it transports you.

“It’s about activities, games and storytelling, and things that go bump in the night!

“It’s really an adventurous celebration of Halloween.”

Community is at the core of the theatre company, and Mr Munyevu hopes this event will be a way for Stockroom to establish itself in the local community.

“I think the community needs it, it’s really about reflecting what is happening around here, and we love Halloween!

“It’s fun, I think it’s something you can do with your whole family, which I think that’s really important.”

The company aims to bring communities together with stories by working with artists from all backgrounds.

In their 25-year history, they have commissioned some of the biggest writers in the UK.

Stockroom’s offices are open to the public, providing free hot-desking for writers and creatives to collaborate and work for free.

They are one of only three theatre companies in the country to offer a salary to their writers, ensuring them financial security, something that is very rare in the industry.

Stockroom hopes that paying their writers a salary will give them the stability they need to rise to the top and develop long careers.
