West Ham coach David Moyes says the team "want to be in Europe after Christmas" ahead of their match against Olympiacos.

West Ham coach David Moyes says he is “hoping for a better night” in their Europa League rematch with Olympiacos as they work to maintain their place atop of Group A.

The Hammers are looking for revenge after their 2-1 loss against the Greek side during their last outing in Athens.

Temperatures at the London Stadium are set to be high after West Ham players criticised Olympiacos home fans’ behaviour during their most recent meeting at Karaiskakis Stadium.

Defender Angelo Ogbonna told journalists that Olympiacos fans pointed lasers in their faces during a gritty match.

“It’s part of the game, but it is a little bit unfair to play with the lasers,” he said.

The Italian is looking forward to showing the Greek side the spirit of West Ham fans.

“It’s about our identity. West Ham fans, if we lose or we win, they are always behind us,” he said.

The team may still be missing Kurt Zouma after he missed two matches last week with a knee injury. Zouma trained separately on Wednesday but was able to do some ball work with the coaching staff.

Edson Alvarez and Lucas Paqueta will also be available to Moyes after a suspension took them out of last week’s Premier League loss to Brentford.

The match will kick-off at 20:00 GMT at the London Stadium.
