Four people have been attacked at the University of Greenwich early this morning.
Police were called to the university’s Avery Hill Road campus just after midnight to reports that a man had been attacked and sprayed with an unknown substance.
The Metropolitan Police say one man was treated at the scene for head injuries before being taken to hospital.
Whilst at the scene, officers found three other people who had been sprayed with the substance.
Tests have been carried out on the unidentified substance, which has come back as non-toxic, according to police. The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing.
The attack took place outside of the university’s main entrance. The University of Greenwich has said the main entrance is currently closed, but the rest of the campus remains open. The University has also warned of potential delays to bus services as a result of the attack.
No arrests have been made as of yet, although an investigation is underway. The police are urging anyone with information to call 101.
